So I am tired.
This is a daily event after getting off work, running errands, picking up Olaf, going home, feeding him, cleaning him, pj's, bottle, brush teeth and story.
I actually don't mind - I love getting things done, and love getting Olaf supper and ready for bed.
Usually I am too lazy to cook a nutritious (translation: any type of) meal for myself unless Steve is home.
But tonight I was inspired by non other than McDonalds... WHAT?
I am combining:
Baked dino chicken nuggets. (They are seriously good)
Lettuce from my garden.
Ranch Dressing.
Tortilla.
Sound familiar? Delicious and sorta low calorie snack wrap here I come!

One thing at a time.
We are about 2 weeks(ish) out from moving in... good thing too because when I went to peek in on sleeping Oly in the truck camper, I discovered that he is just a few inches short of outgrowing the pack&play! Whew, he'll be back in his crib in the nick of time :)

boot boot boot boot!
Translation: "book book book book"! (accompanied by big eyes and a pointing finger)
I love listening to Olaf babble. He has a few words that he uses regularly that sound... well, close to what they should be :) Here are the words in the Dictionary of Olaf:
Daddies! (doggies!)
Dada (Daddy)
Boot (book)
Baba (bye bye, or bottle, depending on situation)
Peace (please, only used occasionally)
NO! (NO!)
Uh-oh (uh-oh)
Mama (mama)
It's fun to hear him sounding out letters and sounds, even if they don't form any words just yet. We gave up on signing a while back because he is pretty good at telling you what he wants, though he sometimes signs for milk or please. Sometimes. Rarely.
I am just enjoying watching my little boy grow and change.
And am thankful for the blessing of him in our lives!

jamaica me cRAZY!
Last week was insane. 5 softball games in 5 days. 6 work days out of 7 days (overlapping the 5 games). Let me tell you, the hour long commute was a tough one last week :) But it was all fun, good work done, and softball games won and lost. I am happy to be home every night this week with my little man.
Currently Olaf is eating his supper. He was driving me CRAZY right up until he got food. His new idea of how to get what he wants is to just YELL/cry until I bring him food. It sounds something like this. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA. Probably because he is just so tired at the end of the day that he's not so creative and just wants to make noise and wants what he wants... but when I get home at 545 it's hard to get (good, nutritious?) food on the table by 6 so he can be in bed by 7... Olaf, jamaica me CRAZY MON!
But I love him.
And he is content now with a blueberry in one hand and a cracker in the other.
Chicken in the oven.
Bottle ready for dessert.
Ah...
I am waiting for some photos then I will share with you all something special that we did a few weeks ago.
Until then.

laugh.love.live
Last Friday (7.ten.09) was Steve and my 5th anniversary. We don't have a ton of money at this moment in our lives so we kept it simple, and did something we haven't done in a LONG time - went climbing! We hit up XY crack after I got off work. I was quickly reminded how I am alternately exhilarated by, and terrified of, climbing. (really it's the falling)
It was AWESOME to get outside and PLAY! Picking up Olaf all the time has definitely toned my biceps/triceps, but has done absolutely zip zilch nada for my finger and hand strength. Hence the falling and scraping of the elbow seen above.
After a quick wash-up in the Icicle River down by 8-mile rock, we headed to my favorite Leavenworth restaurant, South, for a nice romantic dinner. Apparently I momentarily forgot that in a (very) small town there are no private romantic dinners.... but we had a GREAT time eating supper with Dave and Christie, and their friends Becca and Andy, Becca's parents, and their other friends Jen and Andy Barber. While listening to live local music, outside, white lights above... It was great. We were happy to spend the evening with eachother, good friends and a lot of laughter.
Love you hub.
You make me smile.
And make me feel good about myself.
You take care of me and Olaf.
And everything else. (Exept the bills. and cooking. i do those)
I. LOVE. YOU.
!!!
This would be after the falling takes place... Yes I am flexing. Yes I realize that is an impossibly small bicep. Whatever.

6 - 2 = 4
Well it is the 6th of July, but I would like to share photos from 2 days ago, the 4th of July!
On Independence Day we:
1. Mowed the field around the irrigation heads. Steve really REALLY needed an excuse to borrow Dave's new (old) John Deer. He claimed the weeds were getting "out of control".
2. Drank coffee. Lots of good delicious coffee. With my husband. In the sunshine.
3. Paid bills. What better way to celebrate good old American spirit than to spend money, right?! I swear we are keeping the local economy alive single-handedly with this remodel...
4. Spent all afternoon at Lake Wenatchee with the Cohens! It was so nice just to relax and spend time with good friends who we hadn't seen in awhile.
5. Went to a pool party at Grandma Betty Newell's, hosted by Jaimi and Nick. Saw lots more good friends and family too!
Please enjoy a snapshot of our day.
For some reason these pictures remind of that country song "Redneck Yacht Club"...

I made Steve go back and sit in the water to take this picture... He was screaming like a girl at how cold it was... okay that's a lie, but he sure didn't sit down for long!
